It took an overtime period but the Spring Hill High School varsity soccer squad defeated Baldwin 3-2 and advanced to the quarterfinals, Oct. 28.
Playing in front of their home crowd, Eric Kahn scored Spring Hill’s first goal off a cross from Shane Bontrager.
Back came Baldwin with two goals in the next six minutes. Once again, Kahn found the back of the net with two minutes until halftime to tie the score 2-2.
After a scoreless second half, Bontrager scored off a cross from Kahn to give Spring Hill the overtime win. Austin Cline entered to pass to Kahn who provided the cross to Bontrager.
Quarterfinal action took place Nov. 2 but results were not available at press time.
