Spring Hill High School’s three-game win streak was snapped with a hard-fought 42-14 first round 4A district loss at Louisburg, Oct. 14.
Both teams traded first quarter touchdowns. Louisburg scored on a 71-yard run by Garrett Griffin while Spring Hill countered with a 65-yard touchdown pass from Jeff Lovetinsky to Carson King.
However, Louisburg, 3-4 unloaded for 21 second-quarter points. Griffin, who rushed for 320 yards, scored on touchdown runs of 25 and 16 yards. In between, Spring Hill got a 14-yard touchdown strike from Lovetinsky to King.
Spring Hill, 3-4, continues district play at Paola on Oct. 21. Paola scored a 62-18 first round win versus Osawatomie.
