The Spring Hill varsity soccer squad jumped ahead 2-0 at halftime and held on for a 2-1 victory over Baldwin, Aug. 30.
Lucas Mapes scored the first goal with just one minute before half off a nice assist from Niles Kahn.
Spring Hill went up 2-0 in the closing seconds of the first half on a goal aby Derek Bybee. Austin Cline set up the goal with a tremendous assist.
Baldwin got the lone score of the second half on a penalty kick. The Bulldogs converted the penalty kick leaving the score at 2-1.
It was the same winning story in junior varsity action. The JV upped their record to 2-1 with a 3-0 win. Goals were scored by Matthew Lundy, Jac Spalding and Alex Kacchele.
The season continued Sept. 6 at Eudora.
