In a hard-fought battle, the Spring Hill Bronco varsity soccer squad dropped a 2-1 decision at Louisburg, Sept. 9.
Spring Hill went up 1-0 when Cody Jesse flicked a header to Eric Kahn, who put the ball in the back of the net. The Spring Hill Bronco squad carried that lead into halftime closing the half with a 1-0 lead.
Things didn’t go quite as well in the second half. Spring Hill failed to score in the second half and saw the Cats rally for a 2-1 win.
“The boys did not quit and continued to battle down to the last second,” Coach Mike Cox said. “We just couldn’t find the net a second time.”
It was the same story in JV action as Spring Hill lost a 3-2 decision.
Trailing 2-0 at halftime, Spring Hill tied the game on a pair of goals from Brad Bink. Bink scored two goals in one minute.
However, Louisburg’s defense tightened and the Cats scored a late goal to win the game.
