Former Gardner Edgerton High School standout Casey Bowen cleared a personal best 17’0.75″ to finish second at the USA Jr. Pole Vault Championships, June 15 at Robert C. Haugh track complex at Indiana University.
The runner-up finish gets Bowen a spot on Team USA, which will travel to Barcelona, Spain for the World Jr. title, July 10-15.
Bowen, a KU sophomore this fall, was one of the Jayhawk’s most consistent vaulters last season. He placed seventh in the outdoor Big 12 championships. He also qualified for the NCAA West pre-lim meet where he placed in a tie for 41st.
