Board members to tour new elementary June 10

School board members will get a sneak peek of the Grand Star Elementary School during the June 10 school board meeting.

Board members will meet at 4:30 p.m. at the under-construction elementary building to tour the school. They will head to the board offices where the district is hosting a cake reception for outgoing school board members Randy Fruits, Mike McNulty, and Ron Ragan.

Following the reception, school officials will open the formal board meeting at 6 p.m. on Monday June 10 in the board office conference room.

Newly-elected board members, including Brad Chandler, Shelta Collins, and Rob Shippy are set to take office no later than July 1.

  1. Judith Rogers says:

Well, when these Board members, new and old, take their lovely tour, I want to remind them that they are responsible for the costs of this new school plus education in general for this district and they need to be held accountable. Myself, I have not been happy for years now as to the amount of money spent and how it is spent and just like with my city government as well as other government entities, especially the Brownback regime, I am merely an ATM for the likes of the arrogant politicians and bureaucrats and the thieves they work for. However, many of the problems facing citizens are due to their own apathy and going along to get along with these lowlifes – you reap what you sow.
