Blazers Wrestlers move to 5-0 in duals

With the return of Emilio Fowler in the lineup, the GEHS varsity wrestlers improved to 5-0 in duals defeating Topeka-Seaman 33-22 Jan. 23.
Fowler, a state runnerup last year, pinned Rueben Juarez in the second period in his first competition this season.
At 106 pounds, Tanner Ewbank lost a 3-0 decision to Dawson Podlena. Jacob Bonham got GEHS in the win column with a 7-4 decision over Khamin Crow at 113 lbs.
At 120 lbs., Hunter Skeens lost a hard fought 11-8 decision to Jaelynn Gay. TJ Burger followed with a 9-2 decision over Matt Sclossman at 126 lbs., Jake Hills scored a 6-1 decision over Brandon Banks and Tyler Norton took a 10-9 decision over Kyle Fuller at 138 lbs.
At 145 lbs., Tyler Ewbank lost a 12-0 decision to Damon Gay and at 152 lbs., Zach Norton lost by pin to Mason Ray.
At 160 lbs., Dustin Carstens lost an 8-6 decision to Sam Mizell and at 170 lbs., Dustin Williams pinned Shannon Dobbs.
Fowler followed with a pin of Juarez at 182 and Seth Pesek scored a decision over Bailey Kelly at 195 lbs. and at 220 lbs., Andrew Sprague pinned Garrett Strats and Hunter Mulford closed the night losing a hard fought 3-1 decision in OT to Malcolm Mickelson.
