Blazers wrestlers dominate Leavenworth dual with 49-24 victory

The Blazer wrestlers improved their dual record to 3-0 with a 49-24 win over Leavenworth, Jan. 8th.
“The guys wrestled well and continue to gain confidence with their technique,” Coach Matt Yeamans.
Garrett Pogue opened up the dual with a 12-3 major-decision over Malieke Wright. Jacob Bonham at 113 pounds followed with a pin over Brad Young and Hunter Skeens pinned his opponent at 120 pounds.
At 126 pounds TJ Burger won by forfeit before Brian Morelan lost by a pin to Elijah Hall at 132 pounds.
At 138 pounds, Tyler Norton won a 5-3 decision over Steve Martinez. Zach Norton lost by a pin to Daniel Wilson at 145 pounds.
At 152 pounds, Dustin Carstens lost a 3-0 decision to Daniel Butler and Nick Salpas lost an 8-4 decision to Nick Evans at 160 pounds.
Dustin Williams pinned Jake Harrington at 170 pounds and Jake Weekly pinned Dennis Truman at 182 pounds. Seth Pesek pinned Nathan Graves at 195 pounds and before Justin Sikes lost by pin to Austin Tresner at 220 pounds; Hunter Mulford won by forfeit at 285 pounds.
In JV competition, Jake Hills won a tech fall over Jonny Vause at 132 pounds and Jeremy Morton lost by pin to Deven Knowles at 132 pounds.
At 138 pounds, Kyle Cunningham pinned Adam Stedby but Daniel Yount lost by a pin to Devin Pollard at 170 pounds. Also at 170 pounds, Tristen Martin lost by pin to Jonathan Sculley.
