Blazers set 18 personal bests at track classic

The Blazer boys track squad set 18 personal best performances while hosting the Midseason track invitational last week.
Leading the way were sprinters Jaylon Radel, Trae Henderson and Marcus Gilmore with a first, second, and fourth place finishes in the 100 meters, respectively.
The day’s top performance came from the 400-meter relay which took second place in a season best time of 43.65 seconds and finished second place.
That foursome included Trae Henderson, Tanner Hughes, Jaylon Radel and Chase Abram.
“We added Conner McGuire to the 400 relay last week and shaved a full second off our time. Kudos to that young man for taking advantage of the opportunity,” Coach Brian McGee said.
Hughes also took third in the 400 meters in 52.7 seconds and Jared Bartlett took fifth in the javelin with a throw of 155-feet, 6-inches.
“I’m real pleased with the progress of our sprinters,” he said. “Their hard work in practice is paying off.”
McGee also praised the improvement of his 1600-meter relay team, which took second in a season best time of 3-minutes and 31.53 seconds.
