Blazers run past Olathe Northwest, 41-10

Behind the rushing of Traevohn Wrench, the Blazers wrapped up 6A district play with a convincing 41-10 over Olathe Northwest at home Oct. 26.  With the win,GEHS improved to 6-3 and will host first round action of the state playoffs Nov. 2.

Wrench rushed for 4 touchdowns and 225 yards in the first half helping GEHS to a 34-10 lead.  The other TD came on a 35 yard pass from quarterback Jared Hobby to Josh Lang.  At halftime the Blazers had accumulated 317 total yards of offense.

Third quarter scoring came on a 1 yard Td by Wrench.  He finished with just over 300 yards on the night and now has 60 touchdowns in his career at GEHS.

Top defensive performances came from Matt Plank,  Riley Craig, Dalton Kirk, Denton Lawrence and Dustin Williams.

The win gave GEHS a number 3 seed in the 6A playoffs and their first 6A district title.

    The GEHS Blazers (6-3) will host the Lawrence Chesty Lions (7-2) at the Gardner-Edgerton District Athletic Complex next Friday, Nov. 2, at 7:00 p.m. in a first round game of the Class 6A State Football Championship.
