Blazers lose Regional baseball opener

A 7-6 loss to Olathe South, May 21 brought the season to a close for Coach Corey Schrack and the Gardner Edgerton High School varsity baseball team.
The Blazers pushed south to the brink before bowing by one run in extra innings.
“The team showed a lot of improvement, and we will really miss our seniors,” said Coach Schrack. “We had some tough losses to good Eastern Kansas League teams.”
Playing their last game were seniors Klayton Ranz, Jacob Means, Wally Nellor, Noah Tenove, Brett Wolford, Chance Carney, Dylan Schultz, Josh Mann, Luke Whitlow, and Lane Gilner.
The Blazers finished 8-13 and took sixth in the Eastern Kansas league.
The team swept Blue Valley and Bishop Miege in league and took first in the De Soto tournament.
