Blazers cap off undefeated duel wrestling season

The Trailblazer wrestlers capped off the duel portion of their season with an impressive 40-24 victory over Emporia, Feb. 13.
“We finished with an undefeated 8-0 duel record and now look forward to the league tournament,” Said Coach Matt Yeamans.
Tanner Ewbank got Gardner Edgerton High School going with a pin over Dylan Anderson in the 106-pound weight class. Jacob Bonham followed with a pin of Tyler Allen in the 113-pound weight class.
Hunter Skeens pinned Ryan Anders in the 120-pound weight class, and Dylan McDonald followed with a decision over Brett Charboneau by score of 4-3.
Jake Hills lost a tough 10-0 decision to Garrett Whitson in the 132-pound class, and Tyler Norton lost a 7-3 decision to Mat Detwiler in the 138-pound class.
In the 152-pound class, Dustin Carstens won by decision over Tucker Lee prior to Nick Salpas losing by tech fall to Nollan Kirma in the 160-pound class.
Dustin Williams pinned Mike Torrey in the 170-pound class, and Emilio Fowler won by decision over Nick Kirmer in the 192-pound class.
Randy Fruit lost by fall to Sage Eckman in the 195-pound class. In the next class, 220-pounds, Andrew Sprague won a decision over Luis Zunga. Edrick Rouse lost by pin to Hayden Perry in the 285-pound class.
