Blazers brace for battle against Shawnee Mission East

Led by seniors Josh Lang and Seth Pesek, the Blazer football team hosts highly ranked Shawnee Mission East in its home opener, Sept. 5.
GEHS lost top running back Traevohn Wrench to graduation and will rebuild around the likes of seniors Pesek and Lang.
GEHS finished 8-2 a year ago and lost in the regional championship.
East lost in the 6A state title game a year ago and returns sixteen starters including quarterback Gunnar England and linemen James Woolridge, Devin Price and Kyle Ball.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at the district stadium.
