Blazer soccer team gains split

The Gardner Edgerton High School Lady Blazer varsity soccer squad met with mixed results in home action last week against Lansing and Piper.
Against Lansing, GEHS went up at halftime 3-2 thanks to two goals from Savannah Hallier and one from Brianna Nava.
However, Lansing regrouped and scored four goals in the last 17 minutes of the second half to post a 6-3 win.
Things proved a bit easier in a 4-1 win against Piper.
Lyric Henderson scored a goal just four minutes into the game and put GEHS up 2-0 with a second goal 15 minutes later.
Hallier’s goal with eight minutes left till halftime put GEHS up 3-0.
Nava added another goal in the second half, and GEHS stepped up its defense to preserve the win.
Top defensive efforts came from freshman Rachel Ploetz and Sydney Pugh, and junior captains, Dani Clark and Krista Long.
