The Gardner Edgerton High School junior varsity and varsity girls soccer teams defeated the Ottawa High School Cyclones last week.
In JV action, goalie Megan Wetherington earned her first shut out of the season with a 4-0 win.
Kayla Hartman opened GEHS’ scoring, finding the net from 18 yards out.
Briley Mittendorf also earned two goals. She scored on a cross from Lexi Saville and minutes later, she clipped the Ottawa goalie and found the net.
Saville closed the scoring on an excellent assist from Sydney Pugh.
It was the same winning story for the Blazer varsity with a dominant 10-2 win.
Senior captain Savannah Hallier scored four goals to lead the way. All of Hallier’s goals found the net from the top of the 18-yard mark with assists from the midfield.
Other goals came from Lyric Henderson, Dani Clark, Kayla Haff, Gracie Moorehouse, who had two goals, and from Rylie Mueller.
With the win, the varsity improved to 3-7 on the season.
