Undefeated number one 5A ranked Mill Valley proved too much for the GEHS lady Blazers soccer squad in a 10-0 blanking of the Blazers last week.
Despite the loss, Coach Walt Cochran praised the play of Olivia Hogue, Kaylee Guat, Sophia Pogue.
Seniors Lyric Henderson and Karee Hustedde were very productive in the midfield and sophomore Rylee Ebert did a great job in the backfield and sophomore Lilli Clark filled a center back role.
“I was real proud of the effort as we had several kids out with illness,” said Coach Walt Cochran.
The C-team lost a tough 4-0 decision on the road at Blue Valley Southwest.
The team also competed in its first tournament last week dropping games to Shawnee Mission South (1-0) and St. Thomas Aquinas (3-0).
In JV action, GEHS lost 4-0 to Mill Valley. They owned a 1-0 first half lead, but closed the verdict with three second half goals.
