Blazer golf squad plays well at State

Another successful season came to a close for coach Amy Vanrheen and her Lady Blazer golf squad at the 6A state tournament at Buffalo Dunes course in Garden City last week.
Senior Jacque Buckingham closed a brilliant career shooting a 93 and just missing the top 20.
“Jacque will be remembered as one of the most talented golfers to be a part of our program.”
This year Jacque scored a personal best 85 in East Kansas League play and finished 10th in the overall EKL standings. She was the 1st Lady Blazer to win our Home Scramble torney with teammate Jasmine Bailey.”
Junior and 1st time state participant Jasmine Bailey shot a 120 at the Dunes and sophomore and 1st time state participant Hope Bruno shot a 117.
“Both girls are the future of the Blazer girls golf. They represented their school, family and teammates well.”
Playing for GEHS this season were Buckingham, Sr., Jrs. Bailey and Briana Hicking-bottom, sophomores Bruno, Faith Goddard, Emily Smith, Megan Wilson and freshman Katie Beaman, Nadia Chorny, Gabby Flagg, and Savannah Cox.
