Pioneer Ridge Middle School eighth-grader Danny Beyer leaped a school record 17′ ½” leading the Jags effort at the Paola Triangular on April 10.
Beyer also teamed with Austin Furnas, Jordan Jones and Chase Abram to take first in the 800 relay. Other golds went to Chase Johnson (400) and Davis Tropansky (pole vault).
Silver medals went to Beyer (long jump, 100 meters); Furnas (200 meters); Will George (400 meters); Hunter Morgan (800 meters); Josh Sola (1600 meters); the medley, 400 and 1600 meter relays.
Third place awards went to Jarod Weekly (tie/third – pole vault); Jacob Foster (100m hurdles); Abram (100m dash); Nick Todd (400 meters); and Tropansky (1600 meters).
Fourth-place efforts came from Casin Down (1600 meters); Logan Weekly (400 meters); Abram (long jump); and Guy Cauthon (discus).
All told, the eighth graders gathered 58 points and fell just two points shy of Louisburg. Paola took third with 44 points.
Equally impressive were the seventh-graders who collected 43.5 points to finish third behind host Paola.
Jonas Pippitt led the way winning his first ever 800 meters Jastin  Lucero took gold in the pole vault.
Pippitt was also part of the Jags second-place 1600 relay team. He joined with Anthony Oneri, Zach Mitchell, and Dylan Burkhart to gather silver.
The 400 relay of Trey Mauldin, Faris, Mitchell, and Jesse May took second place as did the medley relay of Mauldin, Oneri, Brady Swiderski, and May. Mitchell and Ricky Graham tied for second in the pole vault.
Third places went to Burkhart (pole vault); Randy Fruit (shot put and discus) while Jared Highfill took fourth in the 800.
