Bettge to play volleyball at Baker

After a  record-setting career at Gardner Edgerton High School,  senior Hannah Bettge will continue to play volleyball at Baker University this fall.
She recently made it official by signing a national letter of intent in front of  family and friends in the school’s  library.  Baker Head Coach Kathy Allen was also on hand for the signing.
A  four- year starter, Bettge set records in three assist categories. She had a school- record 1,032 assists her senior season and had a total career assist  record of 2,985. Her efforts  helped GEHS place third in the state tournament the past two seasons.
In  her sophomore season, Bettge was a second-team All Eastern Kansas League selection and was named to the Tonganoxie All-Tournament team.
As a junior , she was named the AVCA – Max Preps  Kansas Player of the Week. She was also named to the All-Tonganoxie team, was a second team All-EKL selection , made the 6A All- State Tournament Team and was a second team ALL-6A State selection.
This season, Bettge took first-team honors at Tonganoxie and was a first team All-EKL and 6A All -State selection. She was also a first-team All -6A tourney selection and played in the Missouri-Kansas  All-Star game.
Early on , Bettge developed her volleyball skills as a member of the Gardner Zoom Tournament Club. The practices and tournements allowed Bettge to form a solid foundation for future success at GEHS.
Hannah’s sister Crysti  Bell joined the Baker program as an assistant coach.
Bettge will purse a degree in Exercise Physiology and is the daughter of Chris and Cynthia Bettge.
