Police have positively identified remains found south of Gardner last spring. According to the Olathe Police Department, the skeletal remains belong to Ryan A. Bradley, a 23-year-oldOlathe man who was reported missing on Oct. 9, 2011.
According to a press release, Olathe police officers dedicated significant resources to finding Ryan after his father reported he was lost in 2011.
Bradley was last seen walking away from his residence in the 800 block of east Layton in Olathe.  He was reportedly going to meet a friend, but was never seen again. He left his car, wallet and identification behind, and he was enrolled as a student in paralegal courses at Johnson County Community College at the time of his disappearance.
Hunters discovered Bradley’s remains in a field near Gardner Road and 213th Street on March 18, 2013, but until today, police were unable to identify them. Law enforcement searched a full mile section of the rural area where the skull was found. Johnson County Sheriff’s Office investigators sent the remains to a facility for DNA testing last spring.
The case remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office. Anyone with information is urged to call (913)715-5560 or the TIPS hotline at (816)474-TIPS.
