Linda Sue (Graves) Weeks, 64, of Drexel, Mo formerly of Gardner, Kan went to be with her beloved Joseph on July 20, 2016 at Olathe Hospice House. Linda was born March 30, 1952 in Akron, Ohio to Thomas J. and Olive Jane (Rinehart) Graves. She grew up in Gardner where she graduated from Gardner Edgerton High School in 1970. Linda lived in several places and moved to Drexel, Mo five years ago. She worked as a controller at King Radio/Honeywell. She also worked for Garmin and Birdview. Linda enjoyed ceramics and macramé. She will be dearly missed by family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe Weeks in 2015 and brothers, Dick, Thomas J. and Harold Graves. Elfreda L. Polfer

Elfreda L. Polfer, of Spring Hill, Kan, passed away July 15, 2016 at Olathe Medical Center Hospice House. Freda was born June 11, 1928 in Windsor, Mo to Stella Frances (Waldburger) and Freeman Ray Eldridge. She was a 1947 graduate of Hartford, Ark High School. Freda married Ralph Eugene Polfer on September 5, 1953 in Spring Hill. After a few years on the farm they moved to town in 1963. In 2015 she moved to Olathe to be near her daughter. She was a real estate clerk for the Johnson County Appraisal Office for 12 years, retiring in 1990. She was an avid outdoors person, enjoying trips to Table Rock Lake for skiing and swimming. She was an excellent marksman winning many honors in trap shooting. She also enjoyed gardening, playing volleyball and she was an enthusiastic bowler. Freda will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ralph in 1997, grandsons Ryan and Dustin, and brother James Daniel Ray Eldridge. Michael John O’Leary, 64, of Gardner, passed away July 14, 2016 at Olathe Medical Center. Michael was born March 13, 1952 in Salina, Kan to Ruth (Mitchell) and John O’Leary. He was a graduate of KU. Michael married Sondra Barta July 11, 1992 in Merriam. They have lived in Gardner the last 18 years. Mike was the CFO at Haskell University in Lawrence for 15 years. He was a big fan of the Rolling Stones and KU Basketball. Mike enjoyed fossil hunting, gardening, collecting coins, old postcards and stamps. He loved spending time with his family. He attended Divine Mercy Catholic Church. Mike will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Mitchell. Judy Marie Finders, 68, of Raymore, MO passed away July 13 in De Soto, Kan. Judy was born Nov. 17, 1947 in St. Louis County to Wade and Ann Marie (Bilyeu) Helton. She graduated from Northwest High School in St. Louis, Mo. Judy married Mike Finders Sept. 10, 1977. She lived in Eldon, Mo, moved to Gardner Lake in the 70’s and in 2012 moved to Raymore, Mo. Judy was a homemaker who was the best mother ever and loved her grandchildren like they were her own. Judy was a phone call away for any of her family and friends. She enjoyed antiquing, swimming and camping. Judy especially enjoyed the time at their lake home. She was an avid reader and enjoyed garage sales. Judy will be dearly missed by family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and the love of her life, husband, Mike Finders in 2010. Shirley Louise Halterman, 86, of Gurnee, Ill, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on July 3 in Waukegan, Ill. Shirley was born December 25, 1929 in Jefferson City, Mo to Bernice and David Nash. She held many jobs over her lifetime in the food service and medical supply industries. She continued to work until the age of 79, when she was finally convinced to retire from the Olathe School District and spend more time with her family. She loved to do word searches and play cards, even if it was solitaire. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son David Bruce Halterman. Tai’Shaughn Terrell Mathews, 14, passed from this world June 28 at his home. Tai’Shaughn was born July 7, 2001 in Manhattan, Kan to Crystal Nichole Kelley and Jai’Vaughn Mathews. He completed his freshman year at Spring Hill High School, and enjoyed art and drawing and being with his friends, of which he had many. He was active in the baseball and wrestling programs. Tai loved spending time with his family and friends, and he will be missed and celebrated by all. Tai loved skate boarding, watching cartoons and listening to music with his friends and family. Most of all he loved to do back flips, and make others laugh while he laughed. Rose Marie Keegan Fargo, 86, passed away June 29 at Olathe Medical Center. Rose was born April 21, 1930 in Bentley, Iowa to Edna May (Simons) and Harry Killion. They moved to Gardner when she was 12. Rose married Billy Gene Keegan on June 29, 1947. They worked together on the family farm. He passed away April 3, 1986. Rose later married Harry Fargo on September 1, 1989, who passed away on December 23, 1990. She was very faithful to her Lord, and was active at the First Presbyterian Church of Gardner where she taught Sunday School, worked in the nursery and with the youth group. She was an avid card player and enjoyed puzzles. Rose was a great cook for her family and the hay crew. She was a member of the Docey Dandies Square Dance Club. She will be dearly missed by family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Bill Keegan and Harry Fargo, and siblings Harry Killion, Mary Walters, Don Killion, and Betty Locke. Clifford married Nina Urton on September 29, 1956 in KcMo. They lived in Prairie Village and moved to Gardner Lake in 1985. He was a mechanic for TWA at KCI Airport in KcMo.
