Gardner Edgerton USD 231 athletic director and Gardner Edgerton High School Assistant Principal Kent Glaser has rendered his resignation. Members of the school board will be asked to accept the resignation during a Nov. 10 meeting.
As athletic director, Glaser served as the administrator for Gardner Edgerton High School more than 15 athletic programs and many other activities. He has worked as the athletic director since 2004. He also served as the liaison between the Kansas State High School Athletic Association and the high school.
In 2010, Glaser provided oversight for GEHS’ move from the Frontier League to the Eastern Kansas League. GEHS was the largest district in the Frontier League, which included Baldwin, De Soto, Eudora, Louisburg, Ottawa, Paola and Spring Hill. Involvement in the EKL provided additional opportunities for GEHS students, Glaser said, at the time. Comprised of Blue Valley high schools, and two private schools, GEHS’ population is near the middle of the pack.
Also in 2010, Glaser was named District III Athletic Director of the Year by the Kansas Interscholastic Athlete Administrators Association.
Glaser also served as an assistant principal at GEHS. The high school is under new leadership this year. Current Principal Mark Meyer replaced former Principal Tim Brady at the start of this school year.
