Assistant city adminstrator prepares to depart town

Melissa Mundt

Assistant city administrator Melissa Mundt’s last day at the city of Gardner is May 23.
She worked for the city for almost 10 years, and city officials hosting a going away reception for her on Monday.
She will become an assistant city manager in Ames, Iowa, her hometown.
She departs on the heels of former Gardner city administrator Stewart Fairburn, who resigned for a job in Oklahoma in February 2011.
Council members are negotiating with a potential hire, Cheryl Harrison-Lee, to replace Fairburn.
However, the council has not determined a timeline to replace Mundt.
