Question: As part of their budget did Gardner Energy increase their franchise fees in order to give all city employees a raise?

Answer: Gardner Energy Director Bill Krawczyk said that proposal, made earlier in the year, was no longer a consideration for his department. He said that discussions prior to putting together the 2012 budget with interim city administrator Melissa Mundt and Mayor David Drovetta indicated those steps would not be necessary.
Krawczyk, said that franchise fees would remain at 5 percent, as they have been for the previous three years of his tenure.
