QUESTION: When will the stoplight project at the 183rd Street and Center Street intersection be completed?

ANSWER: Work on the project began earlier this week, and city officials anticipate the project will be complete by mid-August.
As part of the project, traffic signals will be installed at the busy intersection. The sidewalk and pavement markings will receive upgrades as well. The existing cross walk on south Center Street will be removed and replaced with a crossing on the south side of the Center and Pawnee Street intersection. The work will also include sidewalk ramps at all four corners of the 183rd Street and Center Street intersections.
Officials advise pedestrians to avoid the intersection during construction.
Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin on June 16, 2014 and should be completed by the middle of August.
