Around Town

QUESTION: It looks like crews are working on the building that used to house Whiskey Creek restaurant. Is a new business going in there?

ANSWER: I have been told that it is going to be a Perkins Restaurant and Bakery, Mayor Chris Morrow told The Gardner News. He did not know when the restaurant would open, but the building at 1890 E. Santa Fe in Gardner is currently being remodeled. The 5,980 square-foot restaurant building has been vacant since Whiskey Creek Wood Fire Grill closed several years ago.
Perkins restaurant was founded in 1958. Today, there are 414 company-owned and franchised units in 33 states and Canada.
