Around Town

Question: Where can I dispose of my real Christmas Tree?

Answer: Neither Johnson County nor the city of Gardner have drop off locations for live Christmas tree disposal, however all of the disposal companies that serve Gardner and Edgerton will collect and dispose of live trees.
According to Sean Henry at Gardner Disposal, the trash company will collect discarded trees with regular trash collection. Ottawa Sanitation customers can also set discarded trees on the curb on trash day.
Deffenbaugh Industries and L&K Trash Services customers will discard live trees for the first two service collection days after Christmas.
All trees must be real trees and must be free of all decorations, lights and garland.
