QUESTION:  Why were the flags at half staff on Saturday, March 31?

ANSWER: Flags flew at half staff from sun-up to sun-down on Saturday in honor of a Topeka soldier.
Sgt. Jamie D. Jarboe died in Topeka on March 21 from injuries sustained in April 2011 in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan. Jarboe was assigned to A Troop, 4th Squadron, 4th Calvary Regiment, 1st Division, Ft. Riley, Kan.
