Anna Lee Smith

Anna Lee Smith, 86, of Gardner, passed away Dec. 22, 2013 at Olathe Medical Center.

Anna was born Oct. 23, 1927 in Gardner to Edward Cornelius and Etta Estella (Stanley) Dolisi. She was a 1945 graduate of Gardner High School.

Anna married Robert Smith on June 1, 1948 in Gardner. They co-owned Smith’s Flying Service at Gardner Airport. She worked at the family’s store, Dolisi Hardware, and later was the electrical buyer at Westlake Hardware in Olathe for 25 years.

She had been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Gardner since 1961. She enjoyed gardening and was an avid KU Basketball fan. Anna loved spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert in 1969; siblings Cecil Dolisi, Edward Dolisi and Geraldine Hertzler; a grandson Devin and a granddaughter Madison.

Anna is survived by her children: Leanna “Lee” Ford, of Olathe, Robert Smith and Charles Smith, of Gardner, David Smith, of Ottawa, Kan. and Dolisa “Lisa” Smith, of Overland Park, Kan.; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Cremation. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Jan. 4, 2014 at Bruce Funeral Home, 106 S. Center, Gardner, KS 66030. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. prior to the service, also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Bruce Funeral Home in memory of Anna.
