Five Broncos brought back medals from the Louisburg cross country invitational, Oct. 7.
On the girls side, Makaela Willis continued to excel with a fifth-place 4k time of 17:15. Right behind came Macey Carbajo with a sixth-place medal time of 17:45 and the other medal went to Brooke Smith in a ninth-place time of 18:09.
Although not medaling, Michaela Gustafson finished 24th in 20:14 and Megan Moody finished 26th in 20;25. Cheyenne Townley took 30th place in 23:27.
“I was real pleased with our overall performance,” said Coach Rick O’Neil. “We made improvement and look in good shape for the Frontier League meet.”
On the boys’ side, where races were 5k, Derek Bybee medaled in a ninth-place time of 19:17 and Ricardo Garcia took 10th in 19:26.
Just missing a medal was Michael Nemer in a 16th-place time of 19:51. Ryan Kindig was 18th in 20:10.
Next action comes Oct. 14 at the Frontier League meet in Lawrence.
The girls race begins at 4:30 p.m. and the boys follow at 5:30.
