Press Release: Winboldt announces candidacy for SH school board

SPRING HILL – Jason Winbolt announces his candidacy for Area 3 – Position 6 on the Spring Hill School District (USD 230) Board of Education.

Winbolt is married and the father of two daughters that attend elementary school in the district.  He has lived in the school district since 2002 and is very active in the community and school district.Winbolt currently serves as the Spring Hill Township Trustee, on the South-Central Zoning Board of Johnson County, and on the Spring Hill Elementary School Site Council.  During the 2011 Bond Election, Winbolt served as the Chair of the Vote Yes Committee that helped encourage voters to pass a bond to expand Prairie Creek Elementary, build Wolf Creek Elementary, upgrade technology, and provide funds for maintenance projects at various district facilities.  All of this was done without raising tax rates on the patrons of the school district.  He also coaches many different sports for the Spring Hill Recreation Commission.

Winbolt’s education includes a B.S. with a double major in Actuarial Science and Mathematics, an MBA in Financial Management, and an M.A. in Teaching.  He is currently employed by PNC Bank as a Business Systems Analyst in the bank’s Real Estate Banking Technology division.  Winboltgained a wealth of teaching experience when he was a Math and Computer Science teacher at Washington High School and Paola High School.

“I firmly believe in the Values, Mission, and Goals of the Spring Hill School District,” Winbolt said.  “It is one of the main reasons we moved to Spring Hill, but I think there is more to do to prepare our students for life after high school in a competitive global job market.”
