1 adult, 3 children injured in I-35 crash near Gardner

Four persons, including three children, were injured in a roll-over accident on Interstate 35 near Gardner on Aug. 4.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Devyn Alexandria Marie Berry, 20, of Ottawa, was driving a 2002 Pontiac in the right lane of southbound I-35 when she attempted to change lanes and over-corrected.
The vehicle left the highway and rolled in the ditch about a half-mile north of 167th Street at about 3 p.m.

Devyn Alexandria Marie Berry was taken to Overland Park Regional Medical Center with unspecified injuries.
Three children in the car were also transported to hospitals.
Evan Berry, 4 months, and Dysan Eagan, 6, both of Ottawa, were taken to Children’s Mercy Hospital.
Deryn Jones, 6, of Ottawa, was taken to Overland Park Regional Medial Center.
The extent of the children’s injuries was not known.
All four of the vehicle’s occupants were wearing seatbelts.

Another injury accident was reported earlier in the day on I-35 in Olathe.
The Highway Patrol said Mason Alexander Owen, 18, of Overland Park, was driving a 2007 Toyota Tacoma onto southbound I-35 from the Santa Fe Street exit when he lost control on a wet roadway and struck a utility pole on the shoulder of the highway.
That accident happened at about 10:40 a.m.
Owen was transported to Overland Park Regional Medical Center with unspecified injuries.
He was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
