The ‘Blazers two-game win streak came to a halt with a 7-0 home loss to Bishop Miege, April 7.
Playing without the services of Bubba Starling (quad muscle injury), Gardner Edgerton High School struggled to get its offense going.
Miege broke open a scoreless duel in the fourth inning with four runs on just two hits. The Stags rally was aided by a hit batsman, two wild pitches and an error.
Miege, 3-3, scored two more in the fifth and one tally in the seventh to post a 7-0 win.
Despite the loss, senior John Means collected two hits and Alex Winkler, one.
Now 2-3, GEHS returns home to host St. Thomas Aquinas April 14. First pitch is at 4 p.m.
